NuLine Utility Services is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Laborer to join our team. Utility workers will assist in various tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of gas mains and services, while ensuring adherence to safety regulations and company policies. The successful candidate will be physically fit, capable of working outdoors in various weather conditions, and driven to advance their career in the utility industry. As a Utility Worker, you will play a critical role in supporting excavation and backfilling operations, locating underground facilities, and performing necessary maintenance operations. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and the ability to operate field vehicles and tools safely and efficiently. What you'll do
- Assist with excavating and backfill of ditches, trenches, and bell holes using proper tools and equipment as required
- Assist in locating underground facilities using the appropriate tools and equipment
- Assist in installing or abandoning gas mains and services
- Assist in testing for, locating, and repairing gas leaks
- Perform internal and external cleaning on parts, equipment, hand or power tools Safely operate the company vehicles, equipment, and tools as required
- Perform necessary housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and organized work environment
What we're looking for
- Ability to follow safety protocols and procedures
- Basic understanding of excavation and utility installation practices
- Strong physical stamina and endurance for outdoor labor
- Competency in using hand and power tools
- Willingness to learn and adhere to company policies and regulations
Nice to have
- Knowledge of gas systems and pipeline safety regulations
- Experience in utility services or related field
- Familiarity with firefighting equipment and procedures
