NuLine Utility Service is seeking an experienced Horizontal Directional Driller to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating directional drilling equipment to install underground utilities, ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to our high standards of quality. You will work closely with project managers and other team members to coordinate drilling operations and maintain a smooth workflow on the job site. As a Horizontal Directional Driller, you will be expected to adhere to all safety regulations and company policies. You will also be responsible for performing routine maintenance on drilling equipment, troubleshooting issues as they arise, and maintaining accurate records of drilling operations. A valid driver's license with no flags is required, and you must be prepared to undergo drug testing as part of our commitment to safety and compliance.
What you'll do
- Operate and maintain directional drilling equipment to install underground utilities
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure project timelines and goals are met
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on drilling equipment
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure all operations are compliant with safety regulations
- Maintain accurate records of drilling operations and report progress to management
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including drug testing and DOT compliance
- Assist team members and provide training as needed to ensure a skilled workforce
What we're looking for
- Proven experience operating horizontal directional drilling equipment
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and DOT compliance
- Ability to read and interpret project plans and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Nice to have
- Valid class A/B CDL
- Experience with Vermeer directional drills
- Familiarity with Ditch Witch equipment
- Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance
- Knowledge of trenchless technology and utility installation methods
- Knowledge of damage prevention practices
