NuLine Utility Services is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our dedicated and growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of heavy machinery, including mini excavators, large steel track excavators, skid steers, and front-end loaders. The ideal candidate will have experience in digging around underground utilities and a strong understanding of damage prevention practices, Louisiana dig laws, and 811 procedures. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be expected to perform regular maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. You will play a critical role in our utility projects, requiring a focus on precision and adherence to safety standards. It is expected to be a honest, hardworking, ambitious team player. What you'll do
- Operate heavy equipment including mini excavators, large excavators, skid steers, and front-end loaders
- Perform regular maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure safety and functionality
- Excavate and grade areas around underground utilities with precision and care
- Adhere to Louisiana dig laws and 811 procedures to prevent damage to utilities
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and safely
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance activities
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors promptly
What we're looking for
- Valid drivers license
- Experience operating heavy equipment, particularly excavators and loaders
- Knowledge of damage prevention practices and Louisiana dig laws
- Ability to perform routine maintenance on heavy machinery
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Nice to have
- OSHA 10 or 30
- Class A or B CDL
- Certification in heavy equipment operation
- Experience with underground utility construction projects
- Familiarity with GPS and other surveying tools
- Basic mechanical skills for troubleshooting equipment issues
