About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Deli Worker to join our team at Lenwich Manhattan. As a Deli Worker, you will prepare, slice, and serve a variety of meats, cheeses, and sandwiches while providing excellent customer service. You will maintain the cleanliness and organization of the deli area, manage inventory, and ensure that all products are displayed attractively and meet safety standards. Your role is pivotal in creating a welcoming environment for our customers and contributing to the overall efficiency of the deli operations.

What you'll do

  • Prepare and assemble sandwiches, salads, and other deli items according to customer requests and menu specifications
  • Slice meats, cheeses, and other products using deli slicers and knives
  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service, including taking orders and answering questions about products
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, including counters, equipment, and display cases
  • Stock and rotate products to ensure freshness and minimize waste
  • Assist with inventory management, including tracking stock levels and notifying management of low supplies
  • Ensure all food is prepared and stored in compliance with food safety regulations

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience in a deli or food service environment
  • Ability to operate deli equipment such as slicers, scales, and ovens
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift items up to 30 lbs

Nice to have

  • Experience in a high-volume food service setting
  • Knowledge of various meats, cheeses, and deli products
  • Ability to make product recommendations to customers
  • Bilingual skills, especially in Spanish, are a plus
