About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and detailed-oriented catering assistant to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring that all catering and pastry orders are prepared, packed, and delivered to customers with accuracy and care. The ideal candidate is organized, punctual and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll do
- Pack pastries, breads, and catering items according to daily invoices and load sheets.
- Prepare fruit, coffee, paper goods, and other catering essentials for the next day.
- Assist with making sandwiches and savory food prep for catering orders.
- Ensure all items are labeled, organized, and ready for delivery.
- Load and deliver orders to customers in a safe and timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep and packing areas.
- Communicate any shortages, substitutions, or issues with the team promptly.
- Assist with other catering or kitchen prep tasks as needed.
What we're looking for
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to start early at 4:30am.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic food prep skills (sandwich making, portioning, and handling fresh ingredients).
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (required for deliveries).
- Previous food service, catering, or packing experience preferred but not required.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
Nice to have
- Previous experience in catering or food service
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Customer service experience
- Basic cooking skills
