About the Role
Weβre seeking an energetic and knowledgeable pickleball coach to teach players of all skill levels, from beginners learning the basics to advanced players refining their game. The ideal candidate is passionate about the sport, skilled at creating engaging and safe lessons, and able to provide constructive feedback that helps players improve. Responsibilities include running group clinics, offering private lessons, organizing drills, demonstrating proper technique, and fostering a fun, welcoming environment. Prior coaching or instructional experience and strong communication skills are preferred.
What you'll do
- Lead group clinics and private lessons for players of varying skill levels.
- Demonstrate and teach proper pickleball techniques, rules, and strategies.
- Design and run engaging drills and practice sessions.
- Provide constructive, personalized feedback to help players improve.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, and encouraging playing environment.
- Assist in organizing tournaments, events, and social play sessions.
- Keep equipment in good condition and ensure courts are set up for lessons.
What we're looking for
- Strong knowledge of pickleball rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Ability to teach and adapt to multiple skill levels, from beginners to advanced players.
- Excellent communication and motivational skills.
- Patience, positivity, and an encouraging coaching style.
- Strong organizational skills for planning lessons and events.
- Physical stamina and agility to demonstrate techniques and play.
- Conflict resolution and ability to manage group dynamics on the court.
- Time management to balance multiple lessons and programs.
Nice to have
- USA Pickleball or equivalent coaching certification.
- Competitive playing experience (tournament participation).
- First aid/CPR certification.
- Experience working with youth, seniors, or adaptive programs.
- Ability to create fun, themed events or clinics (holiday tournaments, skills challenges).
- Social media or community engagement skills to promote programs.
- Knowledge of other racquet/paddle sports for cross-training.
